What is an Asbestos Management Plan?

An Asbestos Management Plan (AMP) is a formal document that explains:

  • Where asbestos is located

  • What condition it is in

  • What risk it presents

  • How it will be monitored and maintained

  • What to do if it is damaged or disturbed

In NSW, any workplace that contains asbestos must have an asbestos management plan based on its asbestos register.

Who Needs an Asbestos Management Plan?

Asbestos management plans are required for:

  • Commercial buildings

  • Industrial sites

  • Warehouses & factories

  • Offices

  • Retail premises

  • Schools & childcare centres

  • Government & council buildings

  • Strata and body corporate properties

  • Any workplace where asbestos is present

If your building has an asbestos register, it must also have a management plan.

Why a Management Plan is Important

 An asbestos management plan:

  • Protects workers and occupants

  • Prevents accidental disturbance

  • Is legally required under WHS laws

  • Reduces liability for property owners

  • Demonstrates compliance during audits and inspections

Failure to maintain a management plan can result in:

  • Heavy fines

  • Work stoppages

  • Insurance issues

  • Legal action if exposure occurs

Keeping Your Plan Up to Date

Management plans must be reviewed when:

  • Asbestos is removed

  • The building is renovated

  • Materials deteriorate

  • New risks are identified

We offer ongoing plan updates to keep your property compliant.

Pricing

Asbestos Management Plans from $660 + GST

Pricing depends on:

  • Size of the building

  • Number of asbestos materials

  • Complexity of the site

  • Risk level
